Use Hipobuy Custom Order when you want the agent to request a purchase from a seller using details you provide. Use Forwarding when a package you arranged elsewhere needs to reach your Hipobuy warehouse account. The first starts with a product and buying instructions; the second starts with a warehouse destination and a domestic tracking number.
Check a product link first if you have not bought the item. Open the official Custom Order form or Forwarding form only after choosing the workflow that matches your situation.
Choose according to who purchases the goods
Hipobuy's homepage presents ordinary product-link search alongside Custom Order and Forwarding. These are alternative starting points, not three stages that every purchase must complete. If the ordinary product page loads the correct offer and options, there may be no reason to create a manual request. A Custom Order is useful when the agent needs the seller link and instructions entered explicitly. Forwarding concerns a package already arranged outside that purchasing workflow.
| Situation | Starting point | Prepare first |
|---|---|---|
| Product link loads the correct options | Ordinary product search | Exact variant and current price |
| You need the agent to request a purchase manually | Custom Order | Seller link, specifications, quantity and costs |
| You arranged a package elsewhere | Forwarding | Your current warehouse details and domestic tracking |
| Stored goods are ready for overseas delivery | Parcel submission | Approved items, destination and route quote |
Do not submit both forms for the same intended purchase simply because you are uncertain which to use. Duplicate records can make communication harder. Identify whether money has already been paid to a seller and whether a package is already travelling. Those two facts usually clarify what information the platform needs next. If they do not, ask official support before creating another request.
Prepare a Custom Order with identifiable details
The official form reviewed for this guide asks for the product link and name, specifications, purchasing notes, optional product images, unit price in CNY, quantity and domestic shipping. State the exact colour, size and version in the specification fields. A link to a large seller gallery without a clear item reference leaves room for misunderstanding. Include enough information to distinguish the intended product from similar versions without pasting irrelevant promotional text.
Useful purchasing notes resolve an actual ambiguity: which size-chart row applies, which photographed colour is intended, or whether an accessory is included. They should not ask the agent to infer your fit from an unrelated garment or guarantee an unverified material claim. Save the same details outside the form so you can compare the later order confirmation with what you requested. Check the current required fields because the interface can change.
An initial amount is not the completed shipping budget
The current Custom Order form separates the item charge from seller-to-warehouse delivery and explicitly excludes international shipping. It also says that, when the price is unknown, the displayed CNY 10 placeholder can be used for submission while awaiting an agent-confirmed difference. That is a form instruction, not a promise that the item costs CNY 10. Prefer a confirmed seller price and inspect any later adjustment before proceeding.
Build your budget with distinct lines for goods, domestic shipping, optional services and international delivery. Payment effects and destination charges may also matter. Do not present the first form total as a delivered price. A larger quantity can change seller shipping or later parcel dimensions, so multiplying one displayed product price may not capture the complete cost. Use the shipping cost checklist to compare the same package assumptions.
Read the service limits before requesting a purchase
The Custom Order form describes a service that contacts third-party sellers, helps purchase goods and arranges logistics. Its notice says Hipobuy cannot determine product quality or authenticity. A successful form submission therefore does not certify a seller, confirm a material specification or guarantee that every requested item can be purchased and shipped. Read the displayed prohibited-item and disclaimer terms before deciding whether to continue.
Keep your expectations specific. Ask for clarification on an unclear version, a missing measurement or the seller's return conditions. A manually entered order is not automatically the same as a bespoke manufactured product, but an actually customised item may have different return eligibility. Avoid assuming that a general warehouse return guide overrides the seller's terms. Resolve the details that would change your decision before authorising a purchase.
Set up Forwarding from your own current account
The official Forwarding form shows a warehouse address, recipient, contact information and an account-specific identifier, followed by fields for the incoming tracking number and package name. Copy the current details from your own account when arranging domestic delivery. Do not copy a warehouse address from a blog, another buyer's screenshot or this guide. Omitting an identifier can make a parcel harder to associate with the intended account.
Confirm with the sender which domestic carrier and tracking number they will use. A seller order number is not necessarily the tracking number requested by the forwarding form. Keep the shipment record private: the platform's form warns that the courier number identifies the incoming package. This guide intentionally does not reproduce any customer's warehouse identifier, address suffix or shipment number. Use the information shown for your own shipment and verify it before dispatch.
Register the incoming package accurately
Give the package a useful name that helps you recognise its contents without including unnecessary personal details. Enter the carrier tracking number from the sender and check it character by character. If the sender splits an order into several domestic packages, record the separate numbers according to the current form instead of assuming that one number covers every item. Save the seller's contents list alongside those shipment references.
Forwarding does not automatically mean that Hipobuy purchased the goods for you or that every agent-purchase after-sales arrangement applies. Confirm what receiving checks, photographs, restrictions and return assistance are available for the incoming package. If the sender has not dispatched yet and a detail is wrong, resolve it before the package leaves. Once it is travelling, use the correct record when requesting support rather than creating an unrelated Custom Order.
Receiving goods and shipping abroad are separate steps
Arrival at the Chinese warehouse is not the same as international dispatch. Review the received contents, available warehouse evidence and any unresolved issue before selecting items for a parcel. Record which incoming shipment or purchase order each item belongs to. When combining goods from different sources, retain that mapping so that a missing component can be traced to the right seller or domestic package.
The official forwarding workflow then shows parcel submission, payment of international shipping and waiting for delivery. Compare eligible routes using the actual product type, destination, packed weight and dimensions. The weight calculator illustrates why a bulky package can be billed above its scale weight; it does not provide live route prices. Check the final quote and current restrictions on Hipobuy before paying.
Use the right record when asking for help
For a Custom Order, include the purchase order ID, original seller link, intended variant and specific unresolved question. For a forwarding issue, use the incoming package record and domestic tracking details through official support. For an international delay, use the parcel record, selected route and latest carrier event. These records describe different responsibilities and should not be substituted for one another.
Read the order status workflow when a label is unclear. A request awaiting purchase, a package awaiting warehouse inspection and a parcel awaiting carrier pickup need different next steps. Keep the last confirmed event and the requested clarification together. You will get a more useful answer by asking about a precise mismatch than by treating every unchanged label as evidence that the whole delivery has failed.
A final check before you submit
For Custom Order, confirm that the agent is being asked to buy the correct product, that the variant is explicit and that the amount is understood. For Forwarding, confirm that the goods were arranged separately, the warehouse details belong to your account and the incoming tracking number is correct. In either case, understand the applicable restrictions and retain the information needed for later QC and shipping decisions.
